July 18th at 7pm: A delicious evening with 4 authors of cozy mysteries!

On Friday, July 18th at 7pm, join us for a delicious evening of mystery featuring local authors as they dish on their marvelous new mysteries and the state of publishing in general. Come join us for a lively discussion and a fun evening!

Local author EDITH MAXWELL will present her latest book 'Til Dirt Do Us Part. Edith Maxwell's Local Foods Mystery series debuted in May, 2013, with A Tine to Live, a Tine to Die, from Kensington Publishing. The series features novice organic farmer Cam Flaherty, the quirky Westbury Locavore Club, and locally sourced murder. Edith's short stories have appeared in Stone Cold, Thin Ice, and Riptide by Level Best Books; the Fish Nets and Burning Bridges anthologies; and the Larcom Review.

Edith is a former farmer of a certified-organic farm, holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics, and is a member of Sisters in Crime and Mystery Writers of America. A mother, technical writer, and fourth-generation Californian, she lives in Amesbury in an antique house with her beau, three cats, and a small organic garden.

LIZ MUGAVERO will celebrate the publication of her second book. A Biscuit, A Casket in the Pawsitively Organic Mystery series. With a main character who starts her own organic pet treat business, the first in this series, Kneading to Die, garnered this rave review from Hank Phillippi Ryan, "Animal lovers rejoice! When the witty and warm-hearted Stan (it's Kristan) Connor ditches (sort of) her beloved (sort of) corporate world and moves with her feisty cat Nutter to seemingly adorable town of Frog Ledge, little does she know... well, trust me. You'll love this. This charming, clever, and unpredictable debut by the very talented Liz Mugavero is pawsitively a winner!"

JESSIE CROCKETT's latest title in the Sugar Grove Mystery Series is Maple Mayhem, where in Sugar Grove, New Hampshire, people are serious about their maple syrup—especially Dani Greene, whose family owns the Greener Pastures sugarhouse. But when murder disrupts the small-town sweetness, Dani pores over clues to draw out a killer… Of the first in this series, Drizzled With Death, Fresh Fiction says, "the first in the Sugar Grove series by Jessie Crockett, reminds me of exactly why I love cozy mysteries so much. Hilarity ensues from the first chapter and doesn’t let up, even with a murder mystery to solve."

JULIE HENNRIKUS, president of the New England chapter of Sisters in Crime, will moderate the panel. She is a well-known author of short stories and also has a cozy mystery contract under the pen name Julianne Holmes, for a series featuring an horologist.
